Full Description:
J Williams, George Marsh, W Palmer, R Temple, Charles Middleton, and E Lecras to [Robinson]. Navy Office. Members of the Navy Board writing to inform that there are eleven ships at different ports that are employed for prisoners, hospitals and store ships, amounting to near 4,000 tons. At moderate calculation this exceeds £29,000 per annum. Requesting to submit whether some other means of ship should be recommended for this purpose so as to prevent so heavy a charge to the public.
