Full Description:
Germain to Clinton. Whitehall. Number 84. Received letters. Discusses events surrounding Colonel Tarleton, the little expedition to Cape Fear [North Carolina], and the recovery of the whole country to the west of the James River [in Virginia]. The King's approval to be passed on, the recruitment of inhabitants, and intelligence from France regarding their sailing movements. Has learnt that the 'Associated Refugees' [Loyalist irregulars] are impatient to show their zeal for the King's service, gives instructions on rations and necessaries.
