Full Description:
A Journal from New York to Portsmouth Virginia in the 'Lapwing', John Wier Master, commencing the 6 April and ending 16 April 1781 inclusive. Describes the course and winds and such. The captain would not stay on deck when it was his watch so a sergeant and one of the Queen's Rangers were stationed to keep him there. Signed by William Lawler, regimental Lieutenant Adjutant, and Robert Mois, Mate on the 'Lapwing'. Postscript signed by George Vallancey.
