Full Description:
Major-General William Faucitt to William Fraser. Bremer Lehe concerning German recruits and baggage. Extract from a letter. All the recruits, with Hanau Corps excepted, with the enormous quantity of baggage are put on board the transport ships. As much of the baggage is believed to contain merchandise and private property, requests that an official order be sent to Clinton for all of the Hessian baggage to be opened and examined on its arrival in New York. Every article found to belong to the troops to be confiscated. Trying to stop contraband goods being found amongst the stores.
