Full Description:
Clinton to Lieutenant-Colonel Nisbet Balfour. Anticipates that Cornwallis will have left orders with Lord Rawdon concerning his evacuating Camden should it be necessary. A report is necessary of Rawdon's victory over General Greene. Regrets that the spirit of revolt among Amarican prisoners at Charlestown is stronger. A prisoner exchange would rid us of these trouble-makers. Is keen to have Lieutenant Sutherland, 'Engineers' as soon as possible. Also concerns the trial of Lieutenant Allaire (Royal American Regiment) for the wilful murder of Ensign Keating (of the Prince of Wales's American regiment)
