Full Description:
Peter Chester, late Governor of Pensacola [West Florida], to Germain giving a graphic account of the surrender of Pensacola to the Spanish. Translation being inserted in the 'Madrid Gazette'. The garrison being obliged to capitulate after bombs fell onto the powder magazine and carried away the earthworks. Major-General Campbell who had hoisted the white flag was sent to Havanna (while other officers were sent to New Orleans). Other prisoners sailed for New York.
