Clinton to Cornwallis. New York. Long, detailed report, acknowledging previous letters sent and received, and discussing their contents. In particular on comments made by Clinton on Cornwallis's retreat from Cross Creek to Wilmington [North Carolina], and also his abandoning the Williamsburg Neck and retiring with his army to Portsmouth [Virginia].
