Full Description:
Brigadier-General Gabriel Christie to Clinton. Antigua. Owns his conviction of the necessity of sparing some troops during the hurricane season to support His Excellency in saving a post of so much importance as New York, in case of an attack. Could only spare the 40th, an excellent corps, but reduced by service. Hopes his action will be favourably presented at home.
