Full Description:
James Fisher to Clarke. Charlestown. Discussing Captain Spicer, the Flagg of Truce, the Schooner Endeavour and her cargo of tobacco &c. An application was made to allow the schooner to return but nothing could be obtained. Spicer became a close prisoner on board his ship, with two thirds rations. On arrival, Captain Mackaboy detained both the tobacco and the vessel. A storm on the '2nd instant' drove the schooner from her anchors, damaging ship and cargo. Spicer has now purchased a low boat [i.e narrow boat] to proceed for North Carolina.
