Full Description:
Campbell to Clinton. Halifax. Acknowledges previous letter. Has comunicated with the officer at Penobscot, directed presents for the Indians to be given to Mr Franklin, and works here are in great forwardness. Batteries made on Citadel Hill, 5,000 stands of arms arrived last spring for New York, and Leiutenant Colonel Bruce sent only one half. Has ordered the purchase of powder, mortar and shell found in a French prize, and ships sent to the coal mines are seafely arrived even though they were attacked by two French frigates. Major Thomas Batt died at Fort Cumberland on the '15th ultimo' [of the previous month].
