Full Description:
Clinton to Cornwallis. New York. With regard to his letters of yesterday, informing of the number of ships and troops he can bring with him. Supposed that the necessary repairs of the fleet will detain them there until the 5 October, and that unforeseen accidents may lengthen this time. Therefore he entreats to be told of Cornwallis's real situation and opinion on how he can best act upon arrival.
