Full Description:
Haldimand to Clinton. Quebec. Transmitting a copy of Clinton's ideas committed to paper by General Riedesel. States only the improbabilities of executing the designs suggested, circumstanced as they are at present. Subjects mentioned include, the proposed diversion taking place in winter, providing subsistence to thousands of men for twelve months from such a large distance, and the disposition of the inhabitants upon the Ohio. The importance of the friendship of the Indians, and the success of the expedition. Postscript with regard to Joseph Brant upon the Ohio, Major De Peyster, and [Rogers] Clark(e]'s body of men from Augusta County (in Virginia) and from Kintuck [kentucky].
