Full Description:
Clinton to Germain. New York. Number 151. Sending copies of letters, mentions troops wanting confidence and the force in Carolina being reduced to 3,500 rank and file fit for duty. The Spanish coming to St Augustine, the rebels attacking Savannah, and the belief Clinton has of Leslie not needing a reinforcement (because he does not feel that the enemy are in a position to attack with any force). Encloses copy of a Resolution in a late Council of War. Postscript, Leslie proposes keeping the islands as he will have a better chance of procuring supplies from them.
