Full Description:
Campbell to Clinton. Halifax. Sends a copy of the instructions from the Board of Ordnance to the Storekeeper, by which it will appear that no gunpowder was sent for service at New York. Sends also a return of powder in store and report theron. Sends 500 stands of arms in the 'Belisarius' and 'Amphitrite', will send the remaining 1,000 by the next safe opportunity. Is assured by Mr Morden that Mr Russell's claim is just. Has signified His Excellency's pardon to John Thomas. Recommends Mr Lachlane to be Ensign by purchase, and Mr J Russell to succeed Donald Stewart.
