Full Description:
Comte De Rochambeau to Clinton. Williamsburg. Has received previous letters. Sends back paroles of three officers whom he desires to exchange and to supply that of Major Barclay, he sends a duplicate of exchange proposed by Clinton with his own consent annexed. Lord Rawdon in his parole takes the title of Brigadier-General and in consequence believes he can only be exchanged for equal an grade. However, will send to Washington a list of American Colonels offered in exchange. Sends receipt of the Treasurer for the sum they were happy to lend to Cornwallis.
