Full Description:
Leslie to Clinton. Near Charlestown Camp. Acknowledges receipt of letters and sends returns. Discussion includes the incorporation of several detached corps of cavalry, appointments made by Gould and himself which have not been approved and are withdrawn, and that men are safely arrived from New York. Invalids are sent to Euorope, people daily coming to seek protection, and the fact that there is an increase expense in provision and money. Making attempts at reducing public expenditures but there are constant demands for payment of expenses incurred before his arrival. Mentions Simcoe's Corps, Colonel Moncrief and death of Captain Campbell.
