Lieutenant-General Leslie to Clinton. Camp, Davis's House. Private. Giving a detailed account of military matters (i.e. the intentions of Wayne in Georgia) but is particularly concerend about the desertions of Hessian troops whom the enemy have taken every care to encourage. This together with the assistance of 'their friends within our walls enables them to seduce the foreigners'. Would like to withdraw them but there are no replacements.
