Full Description:
Clinton to Lieutenant-General Alexander Leslie, discusses possible events and their consequences arising from the anticipated arrival of the French fleet from Brest and the Spanish attack on British possessions in the Caribbean. Local opinion is that no troops should be spared from New York to reinforce the region, however he requests that several regiments be held ready to embark about the '20th' April.
