Full Description:
[Mrs Lewis] to Robertson. Petition. Desiring assistance for herself and two small children. Has one son killed [In the reduction of Staten Island] and another serving His Majesty. On ther reverse of the document is an order on Colonel Morris for rations, signed by Thomas Murray. On a slip 'wafered' to top of the petition is a certificate to the assistance given by Mrs Lewis and to the fact of her son being in the service, signed by John Morris.
