Full Description:
Clinton to Germain. New York. As informed in previous dispatches, if the prizes taken in the Chesapeake shall be condemned to the King, Germain will endeavour that the distribution may be such as shall place the army upon a footing with the navy employed upon the expedition. Encloses a copy of the decree of the Court of Admiralty and a request on behalf of the troops employed that His Lordship will become their intercessor, and that the king may be graciously be pleased to bestow on them the proportion of [enemy] prizes which has been condemned to His Majesty.
