Full Description:
Welbore Ellis to Carleton. Whitehall. Being told to prepare himself with all possible diligence to embark on board one of His Majesty's ships to take upon the exercise of the high and most important command with which he is entrusted. Namely his appointment as Commander-in-Chief of forces in the colonies lying on the coast of the Atlantic in North America. Should Clinton have left before his arrival, Robertson will have the instructions and papers.
