Full Description:
Lieutenant-General Alexander Leslie to Major-General [Nathanael] Greene. Headquarters. Discussing his protests against the inhumainty of the siezure of the property of the Loyalists. To ensure a more just line of conduct he has employed a part of the force entrusted in his charge for their protection. Asks if a meeting of Commissioners may lessen the devastation of war, or if not, then trusts that this letter will hold him in justifiability to the world for any measure which he may take in counteraction of the steps that have been taken.
