Full Description:
Knox and Morris to [Dalrymple and Elliot]. Elizabethtown. The British proposal to give seamen or money for soldiers, cannot be acceded to. The offer to accept £200,000 was not unreasonable for they think a greater sum due. Until the accounts be settled they cannot permit purchase of provisions by British Commissaries, but agree that each party should cause provisions for their prisoners to be sent from the opposite lines.
