Full Description:
Clinton to Dalrymple and Elliot. New York. 2 documents. The first includes discussion with regard to the proposition put to Washington's Commissioners together with their definitive answer, but saying he is sorry to perceive that all efforts to establish an equitable and permanent cartel, and to accomplish the other benevolent objects of commission have been frustrated by the interested views of the enemy. The second marked 'Private' desires that Dalrymple and Elliot firmly insist that the enemy comply with the '5th articles of the Convention of Saratoga and Capitulation of York Town'.
