Full Description:
Knox and Morris to Dalrymple and Elliot. Elizabethtown. Their sentiments on the paper received 'the 13th are contained in those of the 8th and 14th'. They repeat that the purchase of provisions in America by British Commissaries is inadmissable. They acknowledge themselves disappointed that the benevolent intentions of Washington have been frustrated and lament the consequences that must ensue. Past accounts must be liquidated, provision for the future subsistence of prisoners must be made. Neither money nor seamen will be accepted in exchange for soldiers. A final decision on disputed points will be left to the British Commander-in-Chief.
