Brigadier-General John Campbell to Clinton. Halifax. Acknowledges previous his letter and hopes the enclosed papers will show that the report made by Bridgham to the Inspector General is false and malicious. Encloses paper on the vessels the 'Gage', 'Howe' and 'Buckram', and the Returns from Major Monk showing the number of Nova Scotia volunteers on these ships. Requests him to send copies of all orders, rules and regulations concerning the Provincial Corps. Did not know there was one prohibiting the enlisting of rebel prisoners otherwise Heyden would not have done so. 'Rogers Corps' shall be sent as soon as navigation is open to the Island of St John.
