Franklin to Clinton. New York. With regard to the complaint made on account of the execution of Captain Huddy. The Board directed Captain Richard Lippincott, the officer that commanded the party, to report to them his proceedings and the circumstances of the affair as soon as possible. Whilst he was preparing his report, he was seized and sent to the Provost so it is now out of his and Clinton's hands and the request of information about the affair is not possible. Enclosed though are copies of letters containing the instructions given to Lippincott informing of the then intended expedition.
