Full Description:
Earl of Shelburne to Lieutenant-Governor Archibald Campbell. Whitehall. Expressing confidence in his abilities and zeal, hopes his exertions for the defence of Jamaica will be crowned with success. Sends duplicate of his letter of 'the 8th instant', stating that reinforcements and supplies had been sent for his assistance, and that Carleton had orders to help him if necessary. To give Carleton particulars on his situation previous to receiving aid.
