Brigadier-General Benedict Arnold, Writes about his situation in London [whilst detained] and offers his thoughts on the prospects for victory in America. That: Mr Washington would not be able to collect a very formidable army that spring, the prospect of the troops taken at Yorktown being exchanged for American seamen (giving a very 'decided' superiority), the strength of the British fleet in the West Indies, the cruel treatment of the [Loyalist] Provincial Corps by Colonel Innes, and his sacrifice of 'a handsome fortune and very flattering prospects' when he joined the British Army.
