Full Description:
Benjamin Hart, master of the 'Maria' to Rear-Admiral Robert Digby. A letter from New York of memorial stating that a flag of truce was granted at Charlestown for business in Virginia but met the 'Amphion' at sea and received prisoners with orders to take them to Virginia and receive British prisoners in exchange. Before sailing to New York, five broke free, stole a boat and set sail. Wishes to be exonerated of this action but wants to know the identity of the perpetrators for this breach of honour.
