Full Description:
Lieutenant H. Sinclair of the 57th Regiment, to Brigadier-General Cortland Skinner. Sandy Hook [New Jersey]. Notifying the arrival of the Rebel [privateer, Adam] Hyler, with two whale boats off Shrewsbury Inlet. That Captain Schaak and party, having set out to intercept them, were taken prisoners, were taken off and are now confined near Middletown at Point Comfort. Has applied to Captain Fooks of the 'Lion' to send some mariners to strengthen this post until the Brigadier General can reinforce it.
