Full Description:
'Commander-in-Chief Comte de Rochambeau to General Sir Guy Carleton'. Williamsburg [Virginia]. A few days before the departure of Sir Henry Clinton he sent him a proposal of exchange for the few officers remaining of those [of your land troops] who have been taken by Count De Grasse's fleet. Hopes he [Carleton] will see it as just and reasonable and will finish that affair.
