Full Description:
Governor Sir James Wright to Carleton. Savannah, Georgia. Congratulates Carleton on his arrival in New York and encloses copies of his last letters to Clinton. The situation is critical and since the troops were sent from Charleston to Jamaica he doesn't expect assistance from General Leslie. As matters seem to be nearing conclusion, he asks to be supported and protected, not allowed to suffer and fall. As Carleton has powers to agree a peace treaty with Congress [or continue war] the Loyalists press for protection and restoration of their property [confiscated by the Rebels] which is to be sold at public auction. He requests justice and take up of the claim by Carleton. Sends a copy to General [Anthony] Wayne
