Full Description:
Carleton to Don Bernardo De Galvez. New York. Received his previous letter, is grieved at the disputes with British officers. Believes the dissatisfaction has been caused through the mistakes of interpreters. Desires that Captain Deans and Major Campbell may be liberated if this has not already been done. Regarding the Convention made for the exchange of the English prisoners under the capitulation of Baton Rouge against those of Spain, he has consulted it and considers it contains no reason for Campbell's detention. Hopes this Convention will be fulfilled in the future.
