Full Description:
Major James Gordon, 80th Regiment, to Carleton. Colonel Drayton's Quarters, Chatham [New Jersey]. Are here under Drayton who commands the lines and will remain some time. Regards the disagreeable situation they are under and hopes he will excuse his for begging that His Excellency will send his commands as soon as possible. Repeats the opinion of the people of Lancaster that Captain Asgill must suffer unless one of the perpetrators [of the hanging of Captain Joshua Huddy] is given up.
