Full Description:
Earl of Shelburne to Carleton. Whitehall. Number 16. Long discussion going through the particulars in past dispatches from Clinton, which includes the representation of the situation of the different posts and questions regarding civil and military affairs. For example, the evacuation of the city of New York, the proceedings in regard to Charleston, and all the posts which are to be abandoned. Informed that His Majesty is placing a firm reliance on his abilities, discretion and zeal to conduct the execution of these orders.
