Full Description:
[Carleton] to the Comte De Rochambeau. New York. In consequence of Clinton's proposal to exchange Lord Rawdon for Brigadier-General Scott, sending a certificate of his exchange and shall expect Rawdon's parole in return. Accepts the exchange proposed of Ensign Stanley in the British Legion, Lieutenant David in ditto, and John Allen, Quartermaster of the 69th Regiment, against Briffaut, Descoutieres and Verdiers, subalterns of the rank of Lieutenant and under, in Colonel Armand's Corps. To facilitate matters sends proper certificates of their exchange and shall expect the parole of their officers in return. The exchange of Green and Timpany for Delaumoy cannot be accepted.
