Full Description:
General Alexander Leslie to Carleton. Charleston. Secret. Has written repeatedly to Clinton to have the Quartermaster General's Department reduced as he thinks half the horses sufficient if the army does not go about the country. Also discusses Browne's accounts to be settled at New York, a list of rents for houses, barracks, stores etc., due since the siege up to the present time of which he desires an order to settle them, and the suspicion of intended evacuation. The situation with regard to shipping, the pay for prisoners of Cornwallis's army, and the shortage of provisions in the Bermudas.
