Full Description:
Thomas White to Carleton. New York. Petition. He, his wife and four children were banished by the rebels from the Province of New Jersey. He is destitute of all necessary comforts in which situation he arrived in this city, where with the greatest of difficulty he has endeavoured to support them all in a most wretched manner. Sends certificates which he hopes will satisfy with respect to what he asserts, and which recommend him as a proper object to receive bounty. Accompanied by a note ordering £40 per annum.
