Full Description:
Captain John Colpoys to Major-General Charles O'Hara. 'Orpheus'. Considers the advice in his letter so very foreign to the opinion of the Council of War held previous to their departure from New York, that he does not feel justified in deviating from the orders given by Admiral Digby. Thanks for the offer of taking the responsibility but cannot conceive it would in the 'least tend to his exculpation'.
