Full Description:
Brigadier-General John Campbell to Carleton. Halifax. Number 2. Received previous letter, sends description of Nova Scotia. Discusses various subjects including Major Skinner of 70th Regiment being sent to Penobscot to take command of the garrison, and forwards a view, plan and profile of that fort. Captain Duncan Campbell being directed to build huts for the men and officers of the detachment going for Spanish River coals if the barracks are insufficient. Deputy Quartermaster General and Deputy Commissary General never had their accounts examined by Brigadier-General McLean or himself, therefore he cannot say what abuses may have crept into these departments.
