Carleton to Poyntz. Headquarters, New York. Warrant Number 23. To pay Brigadier-General's Samuel Birch, John Gunning, Robert Abercrombie, Andrew Bruce, and James March, or their attorneys, the sum of £826 10s sterling. Being their pay as Brigadier-Generals in the army in North America from 25 December 1781 to 24 June 1782, or for the different periods specified in the annexed account.
