Full Description:
Esther Troup to Carleton. A memorial for quarters, fuel and rations for herself and family plus payment of the officers' widows' bounty [her husband Lieutenant John Troup having been killed at Eutaws, [Eutaw Springs] South Carolina, last September. Also asks that her six year old son might be provided for in one of the Jersey battalions. Memorial is accompanied by certificates from Brigadier-Generals Alexander Stewart and Cortland Skinner. Also a memorial from Oliver Delancey who determines that there must be a separate application for the widow's bounty, and that the boy's age is an obstacle to his being made an officer and receiving an annual allowance.
