Full Description:
Lieutenant-Governor Archibald Campbell, Jamaica to Carleton. Encloses a copy of a letter sent by Lieutenant Stewart. £800 having arrived from England for the 'undrafted regiments' in Jamaica; 70 of these are unfit for service and the rest undisciplined. Don Galvez, with the Spanish army, continues at Hispaniola; 4 French ships of the line have gone to Europe and likely that 6 more with 3,000 troops are at the Chesapeake or the Windward Islands.
