Full Description:
Lord Adam Gordon, Governor of Tynemouth, Newcastle-on-Tyne to Carleton complains that clothing for the 26th Regiment of foot, which he commanded, was sent to them in 1779 and has since been lying in a New York warehouse. He wrote to Clinton several times suggesting that the clothing be allocated to Provincials and he be credited in England with a similar amout or, an issue of similar clothing. Clinton never replied. He has asked his agent to write to Major Murray but would be grateful if Carleton would give orders as he thinks fit to resolve the matter.
