Full Description:
Haldimand, Quebec to Carleton a five page letter on various strategic matters, namely: expectations that a new rebel armed vessel may soon attack New York and or Halifax. He reports steps taken to counter this; he also lists posts (Schenectady, Saratoga, Stockdale and Albany) recently visited by Washington, is unable to identify the reason for these visits but speculates their to bolster the defences. He also reports that earlier in the month he received a worrying report, that a party of Rangers and Indians had fallen in with the enemy.
