Full Description:
Carleton to Comte De Rochambeau. Acknowledging his letters of 29 May, 29 June and 17 July and enclosing paroles for: Brigadier-General Lord Rawdon, Lieutenant David Standley and Quartermaster Allen. Discusses forthcoming Anglo-American negotiations regarding exchanges of prisoners and the tariffs relating to various ranks. Consenting to the exchange of Colonel De Laumoy for Majors Greene and Timpany out of the remaining convalescent prisoners sent from Gloucester to New York 'in February last'. Adds that news is just received of the forthcoming Paris Peace Conference.
