Full Description:
Lieutenant-General Alexander Leslie, Charleston to Carleton. Number 5. He has received his letter of'the 15th' by the hand of Major Wemyss whom he praises for his conduct. Promises to focus his attention on the disposal of everything for a speedy evacuation and return of the fleet from St Augustine to New York. Fears a shortage of vessels may mean an inability to evacuate all the loyal inhabitants of Charleston. Also sickness prevails among the troops.
