Full Description:
Earl Cornwallis, Calford to Carleton. A detailed application for a sympathetic initiative for an early exchange of prisoners of war, particularly on behalf of Lady Asgill who wishes to petition Washington. Includes the empowerment of Dr [Benjamin] Francklyn [Franklin] by Congress to offer Burgoyne in exchange for Mr [Henry] Laurens, and the 'concurring' with Lafayette to offer a prisoner cartel (as 'was done' to General Lincoln).
