Full Description:
Messrs Mure, Atkinson & Mure to George Rose. London. In obedience to the commands given from the letter of the '1st instant', they should state the reasons why they withhold the pay alleged to be due to Lieutenant Falconar for his services in Canada in 1776. Discussion on the explanation that they have paid his bills (from Cananda) amounting to £100 19s 2d, the last of which was stated to be drawn in full for his pay. Enclose copies of letters from Mr Robinson [at the Treasury] to explain the nature of this case.
